Cataloging electronic material Electronic Material is cataloged when we have the right to access the material without copyright infringement.

Electronic journals that the library subscribes to as "print + electronic access" or "electronic only" have additional information (including FindIt access link) in their catalog record.
Other ejournals are catalogued by the Israel Union List of Serials (ULS) and added into our catalog.The right to access the e-journals/series comes from several sources:

Some electronic books are cataloged

- when selected or recommended by staff members.
- when the same book is available in the library in print.
- when it is part of a specific collection
- electronic books in all HUJI subjects are cataloged centrally, and can be seen through the new book list.

- Current Journals:
All journal titles to which we currently have a subscription are checked in weekly on the computer (Check the periodicals lists at: Current serials in the library). This applies to issues dated 1996 and onwards. Weekly issues have been entered into the card catalog as well. From volumes published 1997 and onwards, issues are entered into the computer ONLY .
Journal titles to which we no longer subscribe, have also been catalogued into the computer with the exception of titles held in the Machsan with little circulation.
Please check card catalog for backup when in doubt.
- New books - Arrivals:
We have been systematically cataloging all new book arrivals and circulating books since mid 1996. Therefore: Most books which have ARRIVED from 1996 and onwards will appear in the computer.
