"Effective random interface models with gradient interactions"

Abstract:

In the talk we will consider the so called 1+d dimensional interface models. These are probabilistic models for physical (or chemical) interfaces. We will present the models, explain their relevance, and describe and explain results such as entropic repulsion, pinning transition and wetting transition. If time permits we will discuss some more recent result and present the main proof ideas.

Light refreshments will be served in the faculty lounge at 3:30.
