"Asymptotic cones of Lie groups"

Abstract:

The asymptotic cone of a group is a metric space, whose topology reflects the large-scale geometry of the group. I'll give an overview, focusing on the following question: which Lie groups have a simply connected asymptotic cone?

Light refreshments will be served in the faculty lounge at 3:30.
