The HUJI shuttle bus:
A shuttle service (schedule) is available to Hebrew University staff and students between the Mount Scopus and Safra campuses.
Please note that the shuttle doesn't run during semester breaks.
By Car:
Givat Ram Parking Details (map)Park and walk to the Manchester House as on the map above
- Parking is available outside the campus
- Parking in the parking lot next to the main gate of the Edmond J. Safra Campus, Givat Ram, is restricted to Hebrew University personnel
- Parking within the campus requires a car entry permit
By Taxi:
If the driver doesn't know the location of the Institute of Mathematics, tell him to go to the Belgium house (pronounced "Beit Bélgia" in Hebrew) and then proceed uphill (to the East) as far as he can go. This should put you about 50 meters from the entrance to our building.
The cost (within Jerusalem) should be under 20 NIS (about 5 USD).
By Telekinesis:
For security reasons, the Hebrew University campuses are shielded against incoming hyper-jumps. Beam yourself to the parking lot at the right end of the map, pass security, and walk to the Manchester House. Beware of the buses! They are large rectangular metal frames moving at high speed, and collision with them is best avoided.
Getting from the airport to Jerusalem
The Ben Gurion (AKA "Tel Aviv") International Airport is located roughly 50km (40 minutes drive on a clear road) from Jerusalem. The two main ways of getting from the airport to the hotel are:
- Taxi: Finding one should be easy as soon as you step out of the terminal building (at the arrival level).
The price should be roughly 250 NIS (about 60 USD).
We strongly recommend to ask the driver for the price BEFORE getting on the Taxi.
- A door-to-door shuttle service (Sherut): "NESHER"
One of the alternatives to a private taxi is called a "sherut" which is essentially a shared taxi (van). The sherut service at Ben Gurion Airport is operated by a company called "Nesher". These taxis are available 24 hours a day.
Their service is a bit spartan (they usually insist on filling the shuttle and sitting is a bit crowded), but effective.
They are located near the Taxis (just step out of the terminal building at the arrival level and look for a sign or ask around). Make sure you located the shuttles going to Jerusalem (there are also shuttles going to other areas).Transportation to and from the Airport (information from the Israel Airports Authority site)
