"The scaling limit of loop-erased random walk - a naive approach"

Abstract: The problem of the existence, conformal invariance and other properties of the scaling limit of loop-erased random walk was the seed for the concept of Stochastic L\"owner Evolution, which has since been used to solve a number of old outstanding conjectures in probability and mathematical physics. In the talk we shall discuss loop-erased random walk, SLE, and two alternative proofs for the existence of the scaling limit.

Light refreshments will be served in the faculty lounge at 3:30.
